The feeling of having unanswered prayers can be incredibly frustrating. Many people believe that if they pray for something hard enough, with enough faith, their prayers will be answered. So, when prayers go unanswered, it can feel like a personal rejection from God.
It’s important to remember that the Lord is not a genie in a bottle who grants our every wish. Sometimes, the things we pray for are not in alignment with His will for our lives. Other times, we may not be praying with enough faith. And sometimes, God just says no.
It can be difficult to understand why our prayers go unanswered, but we have to trust that the Lord knows what is best for us. We may not always like His answer, but we can rest assured knowing that He only wants what is best for us.
If you’re still in doubt, let these bible verses assure you:
Mark 11:24 NIV
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
James 1:6 NIV
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
James 4:3 NIV
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Isaiah 59:2 NIV
But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
Psalm 66:18 NIV
If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;
1 John 5:14 NIV
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Matthew 7:7 NIV
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 21:22 NIV
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
John 14:12-14 NIV
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Mark 11:22-24 NIV
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
