Enjoy Your Circumstances and Strive Towards Contentment
Philippians 4:12-13, NIV
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
There might be great temptation for discontentment. Mothers cannot avoid or control all the circumstances and situation. It is wise to choose to enjoy all circumstances and strive towards contentment instead of discontentment.
Trust in God Always
Isaiah 12:2, NIV
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.
It is the basic foundation for believers to trust in God. Mothers too! In the midst of challenges and uncertainties, when you start to trust in God, you will not be shaken or affected, but have peace in your hearts.
Speak With Wisdom
Proverbs 31:26, NIV
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
Philippians 2:14-16, NIV
Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.
Words are powerful, especially those coming out from mothers. Words may build up a family or destroy a family. Working mothers might get stressed easily due to dual responsibility of maintaining a busy career while raising children. Sometimes they cannot help but argue or grumble. So always be close to the word of God and let the word of wisdom flow naturally from your tongue.
Set Your Minds on Things Above
Colossians 3:1, NIV
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
It is easy for working mothers to be confined to the daily routine and family matters. But true love, joy, and wisdom only come from above! Fix your eyes on God and ask Him to strengthen you so that you may gain victory in your lives. As the Satan always attempts to distract us from God by worldly worries, try to focus on God’s purpose and plan for your family. Designate a time for daily prayer and bible reading would be helpful.
Don’t be Afraid! Be Courageous!
Luke 1:30, NIV
But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God
Joshua 1:9, NIV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Working mothers may sometimes feel “everything has gone wrong” when things did not turn out as expected. It discourages you to move forward or keep going. Remember, God is still in control! Be courageous and ask God to complete His work in your lives.
