For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Today’s scripture is one of the apostle Paul’s greatest declarations, that none can separate you from the love of God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We can debate and ask questions in many subjects, but God’s love and His thoughts remain unfathomable and beyond our human comprehension that one can just simply ask, Lord, why do you show mercy to the merciless? Why do you give bright days to the oppressors? Why did you redeem your disobedient people? And the question goes on until we realize that God’s powerful love is immeasurable.
No greater power nor things to come can separate us in the love of the Father reminds us of the sovereignty of God. His mercies and grace belong to Him, judgement belong to Christ, but as we look at the passion of Christ in redeeming us, we saw the compassion of our Lord almighty, that even in faithlessness, He remained faithful (2 Timothy 2:13). In today’s daily bread, may this great love of God empower you to come to know Him more, seek Him more than you seek Him before, move you to revere the Lord almighty and love Him with all that you are that you may live in the fullness under God’s loving refuge.
