Waiting and Hoping in the Lord alone

Psalm 62:5 “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him..”

To most of us, we wait for something to take place that will cause a turn in our lives. It could be the good news you longed to hear, an applause from your boss or colleague that you’ve been expecting, an approval of some sort that you think will bring you security, that “right person” you think will complete what’s missing in you.

Whatever that big bang you long to take place, to wait on these things aren’t bad, but today, we’d like you to take a look at the one who truly is a source of a sure hope where our waiting bears fruit, the one who truly cares and knows exactly the very things you need, the one who can empathize with you, the one who truly affirms you. Hoping in the things of the world is fleeting, but in the Lord, our hope is sure.

When we thirst for affirmation, approval, affection and encouragement from men and found none, let us remember that the LORD alone is enough. In Him alone we will be sustained, in Him we find the love that will make us whole, He alone satisfies our thirst, He alone offers peace that comfort us like no other, He alone renews our weakened strength, He alone gives us life while we wait for His glorious day to come, therefore, we will will rejoice.

Hope in the Lord alone, wait on Him, child of God!
