Love the Scripture: The Scripture Teaches

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16

Let the word of God dwell in us richly, says the apostle Paul in his letter to the Colossae, which is a very much applicable teaching to all of us, especially to our generation today, where the scripture is accessible may it be it be a physical book or digital copies, translated to hundreds of languages for better understanding.

This gives us the enough reason to let the very words of God dwell in us, or remain in us, grow in us that we may know what to do, the wisdom to substantiate our walk in faith, the discernment to which way to take, and the foundation to stand into in the sunny and rainy days of life. Ultimately to teach is the way of God to a fruit bearing life in the spirit, and to impart the teachings to others as we journey together as Christ’s followers. As the scripture says:

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Thus, the living word of God is the ultimate food we take that benefits the spirit and directs the flesh, giving us the vision and leads our walk into a direction towards hoping in the goodness and glory of the Lord, waiting and living joyfully and patiently in his presence.
