Contemporary Christian singer and songwriter Jeremy Camp’s favorite Bible verse is Acts 20:24, and he says that the verse best explains his passion for service.
The verse reads: “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my race with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”
“It really just describes my desire for life. It’s what God has instilled in me,” he said in a video interview with SiriusXM The Message.
The verse has taught the singer how to serve God selflessly, and Camp has been doing so by singing about God’s grace since the year 2000. “It’s saying that no matter what happens in my life, I will continue to serve Him with joy and do what He has called on me to do,” he said.
Camp has shared on his Facebook page that he has witnessed miracles and heard stories of transformed lives from all over the nation every time he goes on tour, and he feels blessed by God for being allowed to be “a small part of what He’s doing.”
“I’m tired, yet refreshed, and ready for what He has in store next. I want to stay on my knees and press into the heart of Jesus even more. I want to see a generation rise up and proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ and His saving grace in boldness… yet in love,” he said.
Throughout his career, Camp has released a total of 11 albums. He has won five GMA Dove Awards, and was nominated for three American Music Awards and a Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album in 2010 for Speaking Louder Than Before.
Some of his hit songs include “Overcome,” “He Knows,” and “There Will Be A Day,” among many others.
