God is often portrayed as a loving father, and just like any good father, He is gentle with His children. He doesn’t want to see us suffer, and He will go to great lengths to comfort us in our time of need. Like Him, we should strive to be gentle as we go through our own lives and as we interact with the people around us. The Lord calls us to be gentle with one another, and with our own self.
When we are gentle, we are acting in accordance with God’s will for us. It can be easy to get caught up in the chaos of the world and forget that we are supposed to be caring and loving beings. But when we take the time to stop and be kind to someone else, we are reminded of our true nature. Gentleness can help us build strong relationships with others, and it can also make us feel calmer and more at peace within ourselves.
In a world that is full of violence and harshness, having a mild and calm perspective is an important virtue that all of us should uphold. Gentleness is often thought of as a weakness, but it actually takes a great deal of strength to truly be gentle.
If you’re an aggressive person, you need to read these bible verses:
Titus 3:2 NIV
To slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.
1 Peter 3:15 NIV
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
Proverbs 15:1 NIV
A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 NIV
And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
James 3:17 NIV
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 6:1 NIV
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
Matthew 11:29 NIV
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Ephesians 4:2 NIV
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Philippians 4:5 NIV
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
