Does serving God guarantee having a trouble free life?

Good day beautiful people,

I hope that this post meets you and your family well?

Today let us look to God’s Word and find hope in the fact that we have heaven to look forward to. There is no perfection on earth but we do have a perfect Father who sits on heavens throne who has promised us He will never abandon us. And for all who believe that through Christ (God in flesh appearing) we’re saved, eternal life is guaranteed.

What I tend to find amongst believers is that we forget that just because we’re Christians does not mean we’re immune to suffering! Yes Christ conquered the power of death, hell, the grave and sin on the cross and we’re no longer under the curse of the law, but that doesn’t mean we will never encounter pain. Neither does it mean we will never have to face the consequences of our own actions. Just a quick example as mentioned earlier we’re free from the curse of the law as believers yet many Christian women still experience labour pains. We have to understand that even Jesus said MANY are the afflictions of the righteous. In life you may even meet people who simply hate you for believing in the God of the Bible, don’t forget that as long as we’re on this earth we will be affected by sin because we live in a fallen world.

Philippians 3:13-14 “But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.”

Psalm 34:19 ~ “The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”

What I want to emphasise in today’s write up is that we shouldn’t allow our suffering to cause us to doubt the goodness of The Lord. Suffering should lead us closer to God and we should become more dependent on Him remembering that He is sovereign!

This post has been inspired by the passage Galatians 4:13-14. Paul was actually sick when he first brought the gospel message to the Galatians. This didn’t hinder the Galatians from receiving the truth of the gospel. And Paul’s illness did not cause him to be bitter towards God, neither did it stop Paul from doing God’s work.

Galatians 4:13-14 ~ “Surely you remember that I was sick when I first brought you the Good News. But even though my condition tempted you to reject me, you did not despise me or turn me away. No, you took me in and cared for me as though I were an angel from God or even Christ Jesus himself.”

In Philippians 1 I observed that Paul spent time encouraging others to look to God even in the midst of adversity. That his chains should not discourage others from trusting in God. Paul saw the purpose in his pain, it inspired others to speak the truth with boldness.

Philippians 1:12-14 “And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ. And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.”

With all that being said this should highlight to us that the ‘prosperity gospel’ is a lie. Life is not a bed of roses, we will encounter pain and suffering BUT we serve a God who will never abandon us. He’ll bring us through the storm.

Continue to stay safe, God bless.

Simply a young woman striving to encourage women of God, whilst trying to spread the gospel to a mass majority of ladies all over the world. I am an armature with regards to blogs, but with more time and by God’s grace I shall improve lol. I want every single female on earth to know how much she is loved by God (John 3:16)! Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit. View more posts
