It is always important to remember that happiness fluctuates according to our circumstances, but joy is something much deeper. It is not rooted in whether we are having a good day, week, month or year but on what Christ has done for us on the cross.
Joy is for all seasons. For all of us. Because it is not dependent on us; its dependent on Him.
Here are ten Bible verses to help you meditate on joy:
Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”
Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Nehemiah 8:10 “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Isaiah 55:12 “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
James 1:2 “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds.”
Proverbs 10:28 “The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.”
Psalm 30:5 “For his anger is but for a moment, and his favour is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.”
Psalm 126:5 “Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!”
