Good day beautiful people,
I hope that this post meets you and your family members well? Welcome back to your dose of godly encouragement from the CLAGOH webspace. This current season of my life has been pretty hectic for several reasons… Moving house whilst simultaneously working on my personal development, and experiencing disappointment all at the same time has been a lot to navigate through. Yet nonetheless I can attest to the fact that GOD IS GOOD and GOD IS FOREVER FAITHFUL!
And today I’d like to share with you how God kept me afloat even during moments when I didn’t particularly like the outcome of a specific situation. Jesus is truly the Solid Rock. Do not forsake Him or abandon His Word when the going gets tough! Don’t allow your circumstances to determine your theology.
Matthew 7:24-27 ~ “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
So, one of the main things that helped me get through this season of turmoil so to speak, was the Word of God. Honestly, the Word of God is my firm foundation and the Holy Spirit is a great comforter. The Lord truly held me up. Without the Lord and His promises I would have fallen into a state of prolonged mental stress. I honestly can’t begin to imagine what life would look like, be like, or feel like without having a relationship with God, living life as an atheist in my eyes must be extremely tough.
Psalm 119:105 ~ Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
Also, the people I surrounded myself with during my moments of difficulty played a big role in helping me get back to the place where God needed me to be. As the Bible says in the book of Proverbs, as iron sharpens iron so does a friend uplift another’s continence (Proverbs 27:17). My family, my best friend and other loved ones were able to encourage me to look to God, rather than focusing on my problems. Instead of looking within and trying to figure out how I was going to make things work out, I was reminded to focus upon an all powerful and all knowing God, who has never lost a battle. They encouraged me to seek God for council and advice and to ask the Lord where He wanted me to be. I was encouraged to look to God’s word and I felt God’s love being expressed to me through the wonderful, amazing people He placed around me. I was also inspired to pray for other’s instead of focusing on my own desires all of the time.
So, I hope by now you are aware of how important it is to surround yourself with the right people at all times even more so when your faith is being trialled and tested. Most importantly, one should know that God is a solid rock on which we can stand and remain standing even when the storms of life come we will not be shaken beyond hope because Christ has won the victory over death, hell and the grave. Christ is risen and alive, because of His ultimate sacrifice we are able to enjoy the free gift of salvation. So always ensure that you surround yourself with the right people.
Now I’d like to go onto sharing with you some Scriptures which have really really helped me during this particular period of my life where I have felt very overwhelmed. These scriptures are very precious to my heart, and I pray that they too will encourage you, strengthen you, and cause you to remember how awesome, loving patient, caring, and compassionate our God is.
Psalm 27:6 ~ “Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the Lord with music.”
^^^Because of Christ I can hold my head high. Not because of my own achievements but because of how great and awesome my God is. He is forever true to His word and never breaks His promises!
Psalm 27:9-10 ~ “Do not turn your back on me. Do not reject your servant in anger. You have always been my helper. Don’t leave me now; don’t abandon me, O God of my salvation! Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.”
Psalm 37:5 ~ “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.”
Psalm 37:23-24 ~ “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”
Isaiah 3:10 ~ “Tell the godly that all will be well for them. They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned!”
Finally, another important thing, which I’ve learnt during this current season of my life is to learn to be still and trust God rather than trying to manipulate situations. I am learning the importance of how to wait well which involves being patient and surrendering my all to God knowing that He has the ability to take care of all of my needs and does not need my help to do so. Sometimes all God requires is for us to wait, yet a lot of the time we find it so difficult to wait for God to act. Just because we can’t see anything happening with our natural eyes does not mean that God is not working behind the scene on our behalf. Trust in the Lord be of good courage, trust in the Lord.
I hope that you are blessed by today’s write up. Please feel free to share this post with those who you know are going through a rough patch who would benefit from being reminded of how much God loves and cares for them and has the ability to look after them. I pray that God’s Holy Word will continue to strengthen your soul.
God bless
