It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. JOHN 6:63
For several days, we have been encouraging one another to love the scriptures. Yes, because the scripture as our food. Our souls need this food just as how our body needs food and its nutrients. In the same way, our soul needs its nourishment that can bring us wisdom, understanding, hope and deepen our relationship with the Lord as we grow in faith.
The flesh has no help at all, says Jesus Christ, we can all have the delicious and healthiest food for our bodies but it is possible that it can remain hungry. For when we feed our souls, it re-fills us and fuel us to love the Lord, to be loved by Him and our empty cups to be filled by Him, that though our bodies our hungry but never our soul, for it is filled, satisfied and joyful.
The scripture, hence, is our food. Let us altogether in take it with delight.
