Money is something that a lot of people think about on a daily basis. Whether it’s worrying about not having enough or trying to figure out how to save more of it, we’re always thinking of how to earn for our living and manage our expenses. We even pray for the Lord’s blessings and help when it comes to our finances.
A lot of people think that they need to handle their money a certain way in order to please God. Some people like to save, while others prefer to spend. But the truth is, there is no one right way to do it.
God doesn’t care how much money you have in your bank account or what kind of car you drive. He just wants you to be a good steward of what He has given you. That means being responsible with your finances and not squandering your resources. It also means giving generously to those in need and being wise with your spending.
If you’re wondering how to handle your money in a way that will make God happy, just remember that as long as you are being responsible and generous, you’re doing it right. Listen to the following advice from the bible:
Luke 14:28 NIV
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
Luke 16:11 NIV
So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?
Proverbs 21:20 NIV
The wise store up choice food and olive oil,
but fools gulp theirs down.
Proverbs 13:22 NIV
A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children,
but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.
Proverbs 22:7 NIV
The rich rule over the poor,
and the borrower is slave to the lender.
Luke 6:34 NIV
And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.
