“As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says, ‘In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” – 2 Corinthians 6:1-2
The worldview of us, Christians, completely differs from the worldview of this earth. 2 Peter 3:3 says that the scoffers will live following their own evil desires, they won’t receive the promise of the Lord nor accept the Lord but continue their evil doings, thinking that there is no end. However, the Christian worldview is that the former world will definitely come to an end and the new world will be opened. That is not a miserable world but a hopeful future.
Having passed the 10th month of the year, we are approaching Thanksgiving, Christmas and the end of the year. Just as the prophecy of the Prophet Isaiah, All nations will come to the Light singing for salvation and freedom. This understanding of the prophet will bring the visions to us and make us prepare for what’s coming ahead of us. Apostle Paul is giving us here a warning to be alert.
We might judge everything happening in our lives with our own thinking. We should clearly be aware of what kind of era we are living in. Such a person will be someone who can lead the people. Paul is saying to Corinthian churches, now is the time of God’s favor, the time of salvation. Now is the time. God’s promise is being fulfilled at this time right now. A person is changed when the Lord pours down the Holy Spirit upon him. And we are the ones who experience this dramatic change in our path of faith. The place where the work of the Holy Spirit and God’s word is revealed. It is not our skills or talents that do the work and change a person, but we must know God’s timing and match with the time of God. This is the only way to bear fruits and be successful: Remaining in the Lord. And we should realize that the time has already come.
Being awakened by this loving warning of Apostle Paul, let be the disciples of the Lord and be the heavenly farmers who store up their treasures in heaven.
