Obeying God in the small things.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13 ~ “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.”

Good day beautiful people

I hope that this post meets you well? Today I want to encourage us all to obey God no matter the consequence. Trust me when I say this that taking heed to God’s advice is so worth it because all God does is good, and His intentions towards us are not to harm us but to prosper us. Obeying God is actually for our own good His instructions and guidance lead to life. I personally feel safe and protected when following my Heavenly Father’s lead.

Sometimes it can be so easy to ignore the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit or brush it off as being a random thought from your own mind. This is something that I’ve recently done so I’m not here to condemn anyone but to encourage us all by using God’s word. To cut a long story short I could have avoided an unpleasant interaction with a person (their offensive words really rubbed me up the wrong way), only if I listened to God’s gentle voice which told me to properly sort myself out before leaving work, which I did not do simply because post night shift my mind is always on exiting the building as quickly as possible 😅 (my warm bed is always calling me). After spending time spewing over the offensive words this individual said which really annoyed me, my mind flashed back to the fact that this situation could have been averted if only I listened to God.

Obeying God can save us from encountering unnecessary problems, pain or hardship, this does not mean that Christian’s are immune to encountering suffering! We can practice obedience by honouring God through the small everyday choices we make such as involving God in our daily plans. Praying to Him regarding how we should order our schedule and what activities we should prioritise for the day. Ask Him to guide you to your next holiday destination, pray to Him regarding how you should manage your finances and what you should purchase. Pray to God to soften your heart so that you treat people with kindness including those who treat you poorly (this is one way in which we can imitate Christ as we’re called to do).

Proverbs 3:5-6 ~ “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

In summary as believers we are to make God the CENTRE of our lives! Don’t forget that the moment you gave your life to Christ you surrendered your all to Him. Your life is not your own, you’ve been bought by a high price. Learn to cultivate the habit of talking to God about everything, commit all your ways to Him instead of putting your trust in your wealth or your health which can both fail you at any point in time. Only God can fully sustain you in life! God will NEVER fail you.

Proverbs 11:28 ~ Trust in your money and down you go! But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ~ “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”

I hope you could take something away from today’s very short write up. Keep trusting The Lord and God bless.

Simply a young woman striving to encourage women of God, whilst trying to spread the gospel to a mass majority of ladies all over the world. I am an armature with regards to blogs, but with more time and by God’s grace I shall improve lol. I want every single female on earth to know how much she is loved by God (John 3:16)! Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit.
