Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Romans 12:15
Empathy is one of the most compassionate and genuine acts of love that one can show to other. To loved ones and friends, colleagues and even those we casually knew in our lives. What makes it as an act of love that binds us is that being empathetic is partaking in the feelings of others, especially in moments of trials and grief, we weep with people. It is a wonderful gift from the Lord to be empathetic, just as how Jesus Christ can empathize with our feelings and sufferings in this world, because he became a man for three decades, and have felt exactly what we feel.
Just like Jesus Christ, the NO’s we experienced in life will enable us to understand what others feel and go through in their own NO’s. Our stories of testings can be testimonies of encouragement to uplift others. We may not exactly provide the best solution due to our own incompatibilities but we through our own experiences and seeing how the Lord intervene in our lives, we too can offer this hope to them and bring them to the light of Christ by being empathetic with others.
One of the fruits of overcoming the pain of a NO is a beautiful story to tell and an emotion that we can offer to those who are going through a times of loses and cheer them up as a brethren, a friend and a family.
