Almighty Father, we praise You for the seal of the Holy Spirit, Your gift hidden in our hearts so we can boldly testify that we are truly Yours. But today, God, we come before You to ask for more. Fill us afresh, we pray, with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit as we take our responsibilities every day.
I ask for our brothers and sisters in every Churches, that we would increase radically in putting to death our sinful natures so that the Lordship of Jesus may be firmly established in our way of living, and allow a greater room for the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. O Lord, may we be clothed with power from Your throne and prepare us to receive all that You have for us.
Forgive us, Father, for the plans that we have made and the ways that we have walked in our own strength and have dismissed the convictions of the Holy Spirit. By doing so, we not have just put out the Spirit’s fire, but intentionally separated ourselves from Your protection. Have mercy on us, Lord, and fill us again with Your Holy Spirit.
God, we pray for our pastors and ask that they would lead us through obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit into deeper waters. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon them so that an overflow of fresh anointing will be evident as they live-out their calling. We also lift up to You our elders, deacons and council members, that all the things they will be doing is accomplished through the leading of, and submission to, the Holy Spirit. In all their ways and in all things, may You put to death selfish ambition so that they openly receive the life of the Spirit and take control of their hearts.
As we gather to worship together, we continue to ask for the Holy Spirit to rain down upon us that we may be renewed with passion for Jesus. We ask that the Holy Spirit be always present in power among us, starting from the young to the old. O God, fill us to overflowing with the Holy Spirit so that those we encounter be drawn to You.
As we continue to walk in Your presence, may the Holy Spirit provide us with the wisdom to understand deeper, the truth that we might truly know Christ and make Him known. May You increase our hunger for Your Word and for holiness so that the fullness of the expression of the Spirit become evident among us. And may we learn to completely live by the Spirit in our everyday living, discerning and attentive to His voice and obedient to His promptings.
May we keep in step with the Holy Spirit, putting aside our own selfish intentions, watching closely for where He is at work and willingly entering in. Abba Father, may the fruit of the Spirit be evident in our lives and cause us to overflow with joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, and love. Through the continual filling of the Holy Spirit, change us O God, so that Your church may come alive and be revived. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
