“Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” Hebrews 12:12-15
In today’s daily bread in the book of Hebrews, we are pondering on the essence of strengthening our path. The world taught us with a perception of self-strengthening as a representation of ones might and glory to overcome adversaries, but the reality of God’s word points us to Christ for us to be strengthened. Our inner self is strengthened by God’s love so that it can outflow the true strength to face the realities surrounding us with a conviction that makes us undefiled by the things that are not of God’s.
This process of being strengthened by the Lord begins with a firm belief in the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection that enable us to experience His strengthening. This kind of strengthening bears the fruit of desiring holiness and as we position ourselves this way, we progress by becoming more discerning of God’s will, perspectives transformed, develop a compassionate heart and most of all, standing solidly through the trials and triumphs. By this we know our purpose, we know who we stand for, we know the kingdom we represent, we know our true enemy, and we know the greatness of God’s love that we desire to extend to others and receive the gift of God’s salvation. Today, may you be encouraged to make every effort to run the race by allowing yourself to be strengthened by the right source. while we wait for the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
