“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the very end of age”
Do you have that burning desire to make disciples?
Jesus commands us to “go & make disciples”, this is not an option for us to choose if we feel like doing it or not, but this is a command. A command is an order given by someone in authority for us to obey. That is why Jesus first emphasized in Matt 28:18 that “All authority has been given to me in Heaven and on earth” before he gave the command to go and make disciples.
This is Jesus’ command, to all those who believe in Him, to spread the Gospel to all nations of the world.
Why is this important? The great commission is one of the most important and final assignment Jesus gave us before He returned to heaven. This is the foundation of why we evangelize and do missions in the church today.
Now, how do we make disciples? First, be a disciple. A disciple is someone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Intentionally learns from Him and strives to be more like Him. Discipleship is a journey of spiritual growth, and this growth happens when a person witnesses to another, pray for them, study the Bible with them and fellowship with them.
Discipleship is intentional. Jesus is calling us to be intentional. Do you accept His calling?
