Here are some verses about the Spirit which has regenerated and is mingled with our human spirit:
Acts 16:7, “the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them”
Romans7:6, “we serve in newness of spirit”
Romans 8:4, “walk according to the Spirit,” 12:11 “burning in Spirit, serving the Lord”
Galatians 5:16, “walk by the Spirit,” 5:22 “the fruit of the Spirit,” 6:1 “a spirit of meekness”
Ephesians 6:18, “praying at every time in spirit”
Colossians 1:8, “love in the Spirit,” 2 Timothy 4:22 “the Lord be with your spirit”
Philippians 4:23 and Philemon 25, “the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.”
1 Peter 4:6, “live in the spirit according to God”
1 John 3:24, “we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He gave to us.”
Jude 20, “praying in the Holy Spirit”
The Christian life must be a life in the Spirit, by the Spirit, and with the Spirit. In our homes, in our daily life, and in our church life, there must be a river flowing all the time that brings with it God, the Lamb, the throne, the divine nature as the divine way, and Christ with all His unsearchable riches for our enjoyment…. Every aspect of our virtues must be the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 is the very characteristics of Christ becoming our virtues. These virtues are the fruit of the Spirit, which issues from the all-inclusive flow of the Spirit.*
This life in, of, by, and with the Spirit, who is one with our human spirit (Rom. 8:16; 1 Cor. 6:17), is our foretaste of being in and drinking of the river of life in New Jerusalem. This is the Spirit as “a fountain of water springing up into eternal life” (John 4:14) and flowing unto New Jerusalem.
