A man’s character may be judged by his appearance, or the things he has, or what he can do. However, God does not judge a man’s character that way. For Him, it is simple: if a man fears God and follows His commandments, then he is worth more for God than thousands of mighty men who practice wickedness.
This contrast was clearly portrayed in the story of Noah and the Great Flood. By that time, there could have been millions of people, but they all practiced wickedness and the abominable things in front of God. Noah, on the other hand, was faithful and followed God. Even when God asked him to build a gigantic ship in the middle of the desert, Noah obliged.
As a result, God rewarded Noah and his family with their lives. Meanwhile, those who saw Noah and heard what he has to say, but laughed and mocked him, drowned in the flood. Noah did not have much, but his character was intact.
