Good day beautiful people,
It’s been a while since my last post nonetheless I hope that this post finds you well. Life can be hectically busy and in such instances it becomes all too easy to neglect what truly matters. Some of us may find ourselves juggling one too many balls resulting in us losing balance (work life balance becomes non existent).
I’ve had my fingers in many pies and in the midst of the busyness of life the Holy Spirit ministered to me about the importance of asking for help and focusing on God’s strength rather than fixating on my own limitations. If one is not careful life can become very overwhelming and if you don’t have the right people surrounding you, you can end up living a defeated and miserable life that is full of discouragement.
So, some important tips to take note of.
1. Remember it’s all about God
God is the One who will give you victory and make your efforts successful. As soon as you shift your focus off God life begins to drown you. Worry and anxiety grip your mind and instead of praying you end up panicking. God wants us to be totally dependent on Him. Don’t allow your mind to be consumed by thoughts regarding how you’re going to get to point B, and all the things you don’t have that you believe you need to get to point B. Instead tell God that you need His help and ask Him to fill your heart with His peace which surpasses all human understanding.
Matthew 14:28-31 ~ “Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
^^^ Have faith in God, don’t focus on your problems and don’t doubt God’s power.
Proverbs 16:3 ~ “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
2. TALK about it
It’s extremely important not to bottle up your concerns or desires. There’s a saying that goes ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’.
We will ALL need help at some point during our lives. Sometimes we underestimate the power of speech, the art of engaging in communication with others is vital for human existence. Through your conversations with others they may connect you with people who will help you with your God given purpose. You may even receive life changing advice in a matter of minutes. Even the Bible is full of examples of people needing the support of their brethren. So, learn to ask for help.
Biblical examples of people who had supportive networks around them.
Exodus 17:8-13 ~ “Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim. And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.” So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.”
^^^Moses received great support from Aaron and Hur. They joined him in his conquest of obeying God in the midst of battle. Pray to God to surround you with supportive individuals who will push you towards God and obeying God’s word.
2 Samuel 23:15-17 ~ And David said with longing, “Oh, that someone would give me a drink of the water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!” So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless he would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord. And he said, “Far be it from me, O Lord, that I should do this! Is this not the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives?” Therefore he would not drink it. These things were done by the three mighty men.”
^^^ David spoke and the men around him acted. They risked their lives to help meet the need of their king. Personally I believe if David did not mention his desire to drink water from Bethlehem, the men would not have done what they did, and I believe that David was touched by their kind actions. So, speak out. You may be surprised about how willing some people are to help you. There are friends out there who will go the extra mile. Pray to God to blessed with such friends and pray to God to be such a friend.
Finally don’t forget that your relationship with God is your number one priority in life. If you’re not spending time with God daily, you need to challenge yourself to turn to God, stop whatever you’re doing and spend time conversing with Jesus. Continue to stay safe.
God bless
